  1. I'm just getting back into astronomy after a break so I've joined an Astro club (first meeting this Saturday) and want to get out more to dark sites.
  2. No problem, will try for the next weekend that's clear ? I'll drop a post on here
  3. Spoke to FLO and they are going to get it replaced, third time lucky I hope! The firmware is 04.37.03
  4. Just a quick update FLO picked up the mount in the week and delivered a new mount today. unpacked it set it all up powered up and I get the error message " both axis no response!" Can't move the scope in any direction. To say I'm disappointed and annoyed is an understatement, anyone else had this ever message?
  5. If it's clear Saturday anyone up for a bit of stargazing?
  6. There is a large section of foam under the OTA that could be cut out. That's where my vibration pads are stored. best thing they don't touch the tube so no risk of marking.
  7. I have a 32mm skywatcher plossl and the full set of BST starguider eyepieces
  8. Thanks for info on glue, just googled it and looks perfect, I'll get some and give it a try.
  9. Here is mine, combined scope mount and eyepiece case so I only have to carry this and tripod out with me.
  10. Just need to work out the best way to glue the foam together as they are three sections deep
  11. And the after shot with all the cutouts removed to fit my gear:
  12. Had the Geoptik case delivered today really nice case! Says it's a hermetic case and not to heavy. below are some pictures before I started to butcher it:
  13. Hi Steve, thanks for response and your help, fingers crossed for clear skies ?
  14. Yeh it's a bit of a strange one! I've dropped FLO an email, I'm sure they will sort it.
  15. Not star tested it yet, but sounds perfect from speed 8 downwards
  16. External batterpack. I've uploaded a video so you can hear the sound difference, what do you think?
  17. Just double checked there is nothing really to catch on the mount as the bottom on the head doesn't move etc
  18. Star discovery This is a brief video, rotates smoothly no issues just more noise in one direction.
  19. Mine rotates super smoothly no judder at all it's just the noise changes in pitch up and down if that makes sense in one direction but not the other
  20. You can change the speed by pressing the rate button (number 2)
  21. Need a bit of advise! I'm new to Skywatcher mounts always had celestron or Meade. I've just got the star discovery mount and all looks great and appears to work well (not star tested it yet). just a quick question, on maximum slew number 9 it's a consistent noise clockwise, but sounds a bit up and down in noise anti clockwise. any other slew number down from 9 sound smooth in both directions. Is that normal?
  22. I went for the Star discovery mount in the end, very very pleased with it.
  23. It's a vanguard case the outside sizes are 600x390x210mm
