Hi all,

I'm Simon, I'm in the Rhondda valley in South Wales and for the last 18 months or so have been the owner of an Aldi reflector, which while far from being the best scope in the world, it's done it's job of getting me back into astronomy, although I think they way it vibrates if you so much as think about touching it is going to drive me mad one day.

Hello Simon,

A warm welcome to SGL, hope you enjoy the forum. try hanging a fairly heavy weight from the center of your tripod and some vibration dampeners on the feet, this may help.

John.

Thanks all

A vibating scope eh! maybe hanging half a brick from under the tripod may help it's rigidity.

I've tried that one, unfortunately quite a bit of it seems to come from play in the mount head, I think the only thing for it is to invest in another scope at some point. I can't really complain too much about it, it was cheap and it's got me back into astronomy so it's served it's purpose.
