Hi all,

Been lurking for sometime but thought I would join the community and say hello. I got my first scope last November as a big anniversary number ticked over on the birth certificate.
My interests are visual only and inspiring my children about the universe.

I look forward to talking to you all about my various degrees of astronomical ignorance.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome!

You'll no doubt be in great company here as a beginner. And don't worry, you'll find many of us here are very much newbies and struggling to learn the fundamentals.

You'll find plenty of support here and a lot of amazing and knowledge people who will make the learning experience far easier!

Clear skies!

Hi and welcome to SGL.

Astronomy is a hugely rewarding field. It encompasses pretty much every branch of science and I can't think of a better way to inspire both children and adults.

I wish you clear skies.

Mike

Hello and welcome to the site 👍 kids are fascinating, one grandchild - nothing, another just cannot get enough of the night sky. Point out a few satellites or the space station and you will soon know. All the best.

Welcome to the forum.

I started looking out in the universe, some 42 years ago or so and still say I am mostly ignorant of all things astronomical, it is just so huge, both as a science and in actual physical fact!
