First Sun Spots seen today

Afternoon all , 

Just seen my very Sun spots today ...

This was the inner dialogue beforehand : " Oh , Sun's out , try the filter again ... what's the point , it's just white light ... try anyway "

It definitely pays to keep trying 

Counted four in total at Northwest quadrant 

Here is the simple set up - ST80 and you can see the rest in the photo

well done mate, if you follow the solar imaging or obsevations you will get the heads up on the action, thats what i do. clear skys, charl.

I thought they were dust in the diagonal , then changed diagonal and could still see them ... also tried different lenses to make sure as well . 

Over the moon to see them - over the last few weeks it's just been a featureless white ball of light - then today I see four at once ?

It's great isn't it. I'm just off out to try now.

Wow. It's a real beauty. Positively freckled. I've never seen anything like it in all my three weeks of solar observing. Thanks for the heads up. Just popped in for some ice-cream and I'm back out there again.

The First Sun Spots are quite memorable.
Gave me a wow moment, was so stunned that I could study a star close up.
