August 15, 2016 - Proms Animation

Animation of the prominence from 15th August, wish the images were a bit sharper.

Taken with Lunt 60 PT, 2x Barlow. Processed & Aligned in IMPGG and gif created in PS.

If I remember the seeing wasn't great, so that is a fine animation!

Indeed seeing was quite horrible, I had 2 hours worth of data. 1 hour lost due to my crappy Alt-Az mount playing up, and some lost due to "seeing".... remainder is shown here.

Sharp enough! Really nicely done here. I am looking for larger detailed proms like this one, so this anim is inspiring! How long was the sequence for in real time?

Approx an hour of data in there, it's a shame that I couldn't do much with the hour of data prior to this one.

ImPPG does wonders to align the frames, wonder how animations would turn out with Hinode?

Actually, the one thing Hinode does is give me a respite. I can guide just as well manually, but the field rotation will be there in both cases, as polar misalignment is the culprit. Frankly, I now consider Hinode to be indispensable, especially for longer animations. I am just too old to work so hard!!!
