Severe geomagnetic storming (KP=8) continues this afternoon. Sky watchers across Northern Europe, the UK and Scandinavia should experience brilliant aurora displays this evening.

Thanks for the heads up, what an interesting website.

Currently clagy fog, but oddly a purpleish glow to sky where there isn't one normally. I would have expected green.

All I can see is an excellent display of the Aurora Heathrowalis, a miserable dull orange glow to the north, reflecting off the solid cloud.

Hope some of you have some luck tonight, look forward to some pics tomorrow!

Conditions are not great here, clear but misty and damp. I have set up my PD video camera to record but have seen nothing yet.

Nothing here. It's clear and Jupiter is looking great, but no aurora, just the usual Bristol and Newport glows.

at moment  21.15 clear skies hear near Herefordshire , I too saw a purplish tinge to sky more to the north west , but not sure  im  not claiming it to be the lights

What the Hell, I can see Jupiter now so I am going to drive out to where it is darker and set the camera up.  Fingers crossed

false alarm , just drove 3 miles up mountains to check out this purple haze.... nothing ,   nice skies a bit of mist lower down below us , so drove back , got home and could see purply haze again , then big realization that there doing road works over around the corner and it must be the lights shining on the low down mist , what a spanner , oh well

Just back in to loads of images of orange murk... Murky foggy hazy nothing but was worth being freezing cold and blown about just in case.
