Astronomy app for android

I have just switch from iPhone to android and was wonder what are the best apps to use. Any thoughts?

I use Stellarium Mobile, SkySafari Pro and Skymap.

Although Stellarium Mobile has improved greatly recently it still lack quite a lot of functionality of the full Windoze version. It is a good looking app though and quite usable as a "what's up tonight?" guide.

I'm a huge fan of Sky Safari and have the Pro version. Not that I need that level but wanted to reward the developers!

There is one called Mobile Observatory which some find very useful. I've played with it quite a lot but still don't quite see much use for it. It's a planning tool really and I'm not one for planning

The SGL search tool will bring up many more apps and what people think of them.

+1 for skyeye it's very intuitive and more importantly free

Mobile Observatory also has a "live sky" mode.

Night Sky Tools is also very good with various sections on the Moon & Earth, Solar System, Deep Sky includes Messier, Caldwell and NGC catalogues.

Good star charts of the constellations too and it displays in red for use at night.

The main problem I had last night was putting my faith in an app to locate polaris, dam thing didnt work, I am using a windows 8 phone so if anyone knows a good app for wins 8 much appreciated

Thx knobby, I havnt tried that one, the one I had was skymap, you had to wave it around in a figure 8 to calibrate it, swear if anyone saw me last night they would have thought that i had escaped from somewhere

SkyView gives you the option of viewing through the camera.
