I have always been deep into science and math growing up, but as a kid I were always too poor to get things like telescopes. Lucky me and my family, We were just gifted a 8inch Celestron. Of course I am very excited, and I hope my kid appreciates how awesome something like this can be. This looks like a great forum. I will be lurking though all the threads gleaning what I can before I start asking questions and bugging everyone.

Nice scope to be gifted with.

Great community here at SGL, very helpful members.

Well i hope you get many hours/years of enjoyment out of your scope and out of the hobby of Astronomy. Its literally out of this world.

So i'm not the only weirdo that reads maths books for relaxation? :rolleyes:

I also have a fascination with the Mathematical Sciences, always have.

Wish my dad had been even remotely interested in this stuff, lucky kid.

Nice to have you onboard, dont be shy to ask any q's you might have.
