Hello everyone

Hello from somewhere near Oxford. I'm in the process of choosing a suitable telescope for the kids but thought I would introduce myself here first.

I had a cheap 60mm refractor back in the 80s and for some reason never got round to getting a proper scope, so I have never actually purchased anything scope related before. I have however experience with using them, from 12" and 16" Meade telescopes during my undergraduate days to a 40" telescope in Chile (the UK-Schmidt which I think has been decomissioned now).

After getting a scope for the kids I'll probably save up for something for myself (probably along the lines of a 10" Dob but I am still undecided). I'm looking forward to getting back into astronomy and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions later!
