Dont forget that all the seasons this year were behind their due by date by a month,so the cold winter nights may not start til Jan 2014.

Unbelievable, we spend months complaining about clouds and now they have gone we complain about the heat instead! I enjoy a good frost and crisp clear winters night as much as the next SGLer but I' would like summer to last more than a couple of weeks first. Nothing like watching the Perseids from a sun lounger in a T Shirt. Plus all the activity on the Sun at the moment.

For me its been great to have the dry weather recently, but the cold clear winter nights do sound good;

For me the perfect weather is autumn. About 12-14C and overcast.

Mind you i will put up with this weather for another month if it means a clear warm night for the Perseids.

That's exactly how I felt last year Pete but now just enjoying each season as it comes. Take a break and chill with the occasional bins session April to august then already to go in the autumn.

I'm a sucker for the heat also, love the Summer while it is here! Off to Las Vegas next week, going to visit monument valley, probably, but certainly will be taking a set of binoculars and some plans for observing!

Sounds exciting rhys, would guess you have to get a fair way away from the casinos to avoid the light pollution in that part of the world but America being the huge place it is probably not that difficult. Have a great time.
