Hi All. My names Piers from Nottingham, age 36 and a software developer during 9-5. I have just taken up the wonderful hobby of astronomy. To be honest I'm amazed its taken this long as i am a deep fan of Sky at Night, Planets, Space Shuttle etc anything space related.

I have bought a SkyWatcher 200 with EQ 5 mount and I'm loving it so I just wanted to say hello and look forward to speaking (typing!) with you all.

Welcome to SGL. I've learned so much already from this forum and I've been a member for only a couple of weeks. My telescope is an 8" Orion Skyquest XT8 Newtonian and I'm about to get a HEQ5 mount which will make my equipment quite similar to what you have - I think.
