Kaptain Klevtsov
Just what the title says. When you have the image below open, cross your eyes so that your left eye looks at the right hand comet image and vice versa. At some point the two images should merge giving a 3D view.(click to biggerise)It works because the two images were taken an hour apart and the comet moved with respect to the stars. I can't for the life of me get the comet to look like its in front of the stars though.Kaptain Klevtsov

Beyond_Vision
Was fealing quite ill with a bad cold, now trying to go cross eyed and stare at Holmes for several minutes has only made my headache worse KK RegardsKevin

blinky
I thought you were at the wind up KK I tried it for a couple of seconds then thought about it and gave up, thinking you would be sitting laughing at us all!

saturn5
With varying degrees of cross eyedness i can manage to get 2,3 or four comets...cooooool man
steppenwolf
KK, it does work for me BUT..... I had to copy your image into PhotoShop, remove the centre sky section and move the two images closer together! I guess it is all a matter of how much one can cross one's eyes!! Albireo380
I know what Steppenwolf is getting at. On SGL, I cross my eyes and the two images seem half as far apart - a minute later and I HAVE TO uncross my eyes. Nice try KK - lots of cross eyed astronomers out tonight Tom
CELESCOPE
works for me KK, BUT THEN I WAS ALWAYS GOOD DOING THIS SORT OF THING , GETTING SHAPES PRETTY WELL RIGHT AWAY , YOU THE SINGLE IMAGE LOOKS GOOD ROG sorry caps lol
Sam
This seemed like a wind up to me - but I always fall for these so I tried it and I think it works - very blurry comet though but with a bit of imagination it's sort of 3D.
philsail1
Yes, the "3D" effect worked for me too Kaptain K, but the comet does look as if it is in front of the stars! Your imaging skills are very good, as they are superb photos.Regards,Philsail1
themos
Ha ha, I used to create synthetic stereograms with some math software and developed the knack back in the 90s. I can certainly get the images to merge but there's not much 3d-ness in there, I think. Why don't you post a version with the panes swapped round? Ant
I had to make the whole image smaller - I couldn't cross my eye enough. But when the image is smaller I had no problems.Very nice KK. It was well worth the effort.Ant

barkis
I love the pictures KK, but I'm getting a headache trying to 3D them. I'll settle for them being separate. Ron.
