Spectacular prom, May 9th

A lovely prominence was visible on the Sun yesterday (May 8th) but unfortunately I was under cloud. Fortunately, it was still there today, unlike the clouds!

It almost looks like a tornado of fire roaming the surface! Lovely image.

I spotted some really great proms today. There was too much cloud flying around to do any imaging, but in gaps in the clouds I spotted a really large one on the lower western limb. Lovely arc that slowly changed shape as the day wore on. I just had another look out front, and the neighbour joined me to have a look.
