I got so fed up with purple avi's from my 120mm frac and spc880 that I got my Tasco 114 out from retirement and took a few avi's using 2X and 3X barlows which is a much as i dared, weather wasn't great either, taken on the 27th Feb.

Nice one Tim i have the exact same scope sat in my roof & just about to part with it to the father in law, manual tracking may pose a few problems for him though but still a good scope to have in your collection, well done.

What a great image, the spc really is brilliant in any scope it would seem, well done on getting the best from both. :)

Tim,

Excellent image and very impressive given the poor viewing conditions and a 4.5" newt! Good job holding this steady at 3x - is this the famed TAL 3x barlow?

Clear Skies - Jake

Jake the barlow was just a cheap and cheerful from scopesandskys I think, about £25/30, the scope was sat on a tracking EQ5 mate.

Wow Tim, I can only echo what the others have said. You almost make me want to get mine out of retirement too.

Allen you should get it out of retirement, theres far to much put out to pasture before their time ;.)

Very nice Tim - Jupiter sharp enough for a crop and rescale larger. Who said these old scopes does work?

nytecam, I had a look at cropping and enlarging it but it just brought out all the onion rings, maybe on a clearer night and more frames I could get away with doing that. thers always next time Hey

It is a cracking little camera for what they cost, i'm well impressed with it, however I put into my 120mm refractor, It got great detail but couldn't manage the CA, but that not cameras fault it the scope.

Very nice Tim, even getting a quick glimpse of jupiter is hard enough in Lancashire with all the cloud cover we have.
