Afternoon ‘all.

Over the past few months I have been reading a lot of books on spacetime, the universe and physics which has resulted in me gazing upwards a lot more!

I am on the brink of ordering a Skywatcher Skyliner 200P, having done a bit of research online. I don’t think I need to order anything else at the same time unless you tell me I should!

I will no doubt will need a lot of advice once my Skyliner arrives, so I thought I would introduce myself as from the posts it seems you all know a lot about what you are talking about on here!

I am a complete novice, but an enthusiastic patient one which I think will help with this new interest!

I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Welcome to SGL.

The 200P is a very good choice of scope. Additional things you might consider ordering could include a red torch, though you can bodge one yourself fairly easily if you wish, a copy of "Turn Left at Orion" and a collimation aid such as a collimation laser or cheshire eyepiece. Depending on the amount of light pollution in your area it might also be worth considering some sort of filter, but to be honest I don't have much experience with light pollution so others would be best to advise there. There will probably be other things once you get going, but that's probably a good place to start.

Hi, welcome to SGL :)

Nice choice of scope. I'd wait until you've used it before spending more. But I will say scopes these days only usually come with one eyepiece and you will soon need another couple to get the best out of it.
