I have been reading the forum for a few weeks now, and thought it was about time I said hello.

Hello.

I have been interested in astronomy for a long time. The wife recently picked up a second hand Meade ETX90 for me. That's what set me off again.

Now I'm saving like mad to get something bigger (I haven't told her yet how much it is).

I'm thinking of getting the Celestron Nextstar 8SE.

They seem to get good reviews.

The sky isn't very good around Birmingham so I need something that's portable.

Anyway, enough rambling.

Hello from another newbie and etx 90 owner. To get upgraded try nagging your wife constantly. I did and I now also own a 10" lightbridge. Bad time to ask is at 4am when every bit of your body is frozen from extended viewing time. (That set me back a month or two) Good time is when she wants a new kitchen, new bathroom ect ect. Timing is everything!
