Hi, I'm new here myself and a long time bino-user... nothing as powerful as 20x though. I have just viewed Jupiter this evening at 20x with my spotting scope on a tripod and got a clear view of the planet and 4 moons. Lovely!

I'll echo the advice to get a bino-mount (preferably a sturdy metal one) and a tripod.

Also, to avoid back and neck ache when observing near the zenith, a sun lounger is a great aid to observation (and the better ones usually have a place for you to put the whisky glass) ;)

A warm welcome to the SGL 20x80 Binoculars are a great start Jupiter coming from the east should give you a view of it's Moons as well and don't forget to down load for free, stellarium this will help you get around the sky
