  1. As I am ready to invest in this new CMOS camera from ZWO the Asi2600mc pro , I am trying to understand why this camera will be better than a DSLR with a filter Infront.... How this camera will give me better images ? I have used DSLR camera some years ago , when I was starting this hobby but after that I have been through mono ccd's , since the time I realized that unfortunately due to lack of time I can not continue with mono imaging and filters.... So I am thinking to give it a try with a brand new, let's say technology of Color CMOS and see what I can get out of it.... I see some really nice examples on the net but am I going to achieve them ? The Zwo Asi294mc pro widely used around the world is also very promising...Discontinued already as I hear...Amp glow issues....is it really so annoying ?cheaper than the new asi2600 MC pro by half price.... So can someone persuade me that the Zwo Asi2600mc pro is better than the others ? 🤔
  2. So if i have a filter wheel and a set of narrowband filters of lets say Baader, i can do the same job? as if i have one filter? lets say L extreme?
  3. I am leaning towards the L extreme too at least for starters 😄...hoping that I will not have to spend into other filters....I believe 7nm is not bad for a OSC...
  4. I am too on the same path....I am ready to invest to Zwo Asi2600MC Pro after doing Mono for a long time ,just for curiosity reasons to see if they are as good as it looks like, but it seems the most difficult decision is on what filter to invest.... There are so many out there dual band Tri band quad band etc and now this NBX is out..... Specs of these filters is a bit difficult to find...
  5. I will give it a try when I will have the time, thank you for the suggestion.
  6. Hello , unfortunately no I couldn't find the reason , still have on my mind a couple of tests I would like to do when I will have the time...and we will see the results....I thought about many possible problems but can not come to a conclusion. The only filter I had good success is the Ha 3nm Astrodon...all the others give me a short of reflection or I don't know how to call it..
  7. Perfect. Thank you very much , it's my mistake then. Nikolas.
  8. Hello , Anyone has experience in this combination ? The Pocket Power box is giving max 2 Amps in every output but the Zwo Asi 294MC Pro or any other Zwo camera needs 3 Amps to operate otherwise software will hang as i am reading.. Is this true or did i understand something wrong ? Thanks Nikolas.
  9. Amazing result !!! could you please let me know your Bortle scale ??? i am struggling to find a color camera that can actually give me some results in Bortle 8-9 scale where i live. DId you use any filters in front ? Thank you, Nikolas.
  10. Anyone knows if any of these filters or similar come in size of 36mm unmounted ?
  11. I use Astrodon , but if i had to choose would go with Astronomik because i think they give a little bit better on the nm , and my next best choice would be Chroma...i haven't try them but i wish i could because i have seen some very interesting results..... Don't forget though the most important factor, light pollution.....so it depends on which side you are....... I would make up my mind depending on that factor and then my budget......😀
  12. Very nice result....i see that you spend a lot of time...how many nights ? Merry Christmas !!!
  13. WOW !!!!!!!! Thank you Steve...... All the info given from all of you are very helpful ...... Thank you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nikolas.
  14. Hi , i always have the same problem when i try to create an RGB image from narrowband images..... The Ha detail/data gets so faint on the RGB end result....if i strech it gets worse.... How can i enhance the RGB image with all the Ha data.......???????? On the left is the Ha and on the right is the RGB from Ha + Oiii...... Nikolas.
  15. Both of them are very nice you did a great job and spend many hours to acquire all this data. I prefer the first one because it shows more of the nebula and because it has a more ''exotic'' color. The second is more natural. Nikolas.
  16. I was wondering what is best to do.....we have images from multiple sessions (different nights) and we want to create a single integration (stack) ,,,,,is it better to process each session(night) separate or to throw them all together in the software... Me , i use APP and Pixinsight ? What will give us better result.....? Because my images are shifted from night to night how can i put them all as one ???? in Pixinsight ?and not have this border mark on the side ?..should be in star alignment ?
