  1. Love my ESPRIT 100ED for imaging and wouldn't change it , just a bit heavy for my preferences ! I started with newtonians and sold them all although they are very good for imaging but not very compact , then i had a MAK127 sold it too , didn't like so much the long focal length...
  2. I use Stellarium , for planning and mount control and framing..... Nice graphic interface easy to use , updates often , recently i was checking the SkyX Pro but i think i will stay with Stellarium.
  3. Hello Allan , from what i read my mind goes immediately to software glitch somewhere.... Try updating EQMOD and PHD2 to the newest version , because most of the times the problems start from there and not from the hardware.... also check the power of the mount if possible replace it with another power adapter....12v 2amp.. Hope you will solve it soon.
  4. To be honest , 2 times i have tried using OAG but i was never satisfied with the guiding results comparing to having a guide scope. Also it seems always to be unstable and difficult to focus on guide stars. I wanted to have my setup more clean and light , but from my experience i believe the old fashion way of a guide scope and guide cam is a guaranty !!!! And i think soon i will go back to my guiding cope. They say that OAG works best best in longer focal lengths maybe that is the case....my focal length is no more than 500mm.
  5. Nice Detail and coloration you have made !!!! Very clear !!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Good work , very nice image and finally i good example of the RedCat 51...
  7. Any reviews yet or videos on how is working ? did anyone test it yet ? They say that you don't need to have Polaris on the field of view ? if that's the case then it's much better than QHY Polarscope because you can use it even if you don't have Polaris in site of view..... The price is the same with QHY Polemaster...
  8. I still couldn't try mine.....is there a time limit on that ? Thanks. Nikolas
  9. It is truly is addictive and once you start you want to explore the universe and make photos of it...!!!!! i started also as a visual observer of the moon....next day i found myself buying lots of stuff didn't even know how they work... I needed a good camera to start taking photos......and that's how i also saw my bank account going down !!!!! ? Take care ...and keep going.... Nikolas.
  10. That is the correct , the other way around simply doesn't let any light to pass through the guide camera. Tested and Confirmed ! Nikolas.
  11. From the album: NEBULA

  12. Does the OAG Prism has to be parallel with the sensor or to be at the corner of the sensor so there is no vignetting ?
  13. I knew it was a bit confusing that's why I post the question....I think I will do a visual check...and I will post the answer with a photo. Thanks Nikolas
  14. Hello , i am just trying to put together my ccd + filter wheel + OAG....... My question is : the oag prism has two sides , one is like flat and the other has a small like circle .....??? which side goes where ???? Nikolas.
  15. I was wondering if the dew shield has to be extended all the way ?? does it really makes a difference ?what if i remove it ?
  16. I just bought the newer version then , from what i see the newer version box is more safe and secure for the telescope. The dedicated FF has an M48 thread adapter to connect it to the camera , so you can attach there permanently a 2" filter i believe... Nikolas.
  17. Anybody can confirm that the backfocus distance using the dedicated flatterer is 63mm or 55mm (i am using as camera the Atik 383L) ? I am a little confused..
