  1. I was wondering if anybody knows if it's possible to attach the ZWO AM5 on my Skywatcher HEQ5 pier? Is there any adapter for it? Thanks Nikolas.
  2. Hello , as i am planning to do my first session out in the field , i would like to ask something : I have my setup controlled with a mini pc Intel NUC and i usually monitor the progress from my living room with a laptop....as you know all this is connected to my home wifi network....and by using Chrome Remote Desktop. Now , if i am out in the field and i don't have internet how can i setup the Intel Nuc and my laptop ? is it possible to do a screen share from the mini pc to the laptop with using a LAN cable ? is there a software that can work without internet ? Many thanks Nikolas.
  3. Thank you so much all for your answers , tomorrow that I have day off I will try your suggestions.... I don't know how is the range of these small WiFi routers if you are between obstacles like walls ..... Thank you so much.
  4. Hi, My telescope rig is connected to an Intel NUC and then I remotely control it with my laptop from my living room, everything is connected to my home Internet. But if I go out in the field how is it possible to remotely control my telescope without having internet? What do I have to buy? Nikolas.
  5. Hello Martin, finally I bought an auto focuser by ZWO and fitted with a deepskydad adaptor and certainly if not solved, improved things a lot. So mostly I believe it was a focusing problem because I didn't notice something extreme at the end. Focusing by hand the Redcat51 is very difficult . But I am sure i still have a problem in the corners of the field but not something noticeable.
  6. Hello to all, Since my laptop monitor is not good enough anymore to do photo processing, I was thinking to upgrade to a external monitor a bit bigger so I can do easier my photo processing. But there are so many in the market and its too difficult to choose. According to the pixinsight suggestions the minimum should be FHD 1920x1080 resolution and IPS. I know that is all about budget and how much you can spend.... But I don't want to spend for a high end monitor that a simpler monitor could do the job. I was thinking for a 24inch..... or 27inch. Can anyone suggest me for a monitor to buy or even tell me what you are using and if you are happy with it? Would I be satisfied with a 1920x1080 resolution or shall I go for a 4k? Many thanks Nikolas.
  7. I didn't had any luck so at the end I quit mad use the Stellarium landscape. Too much work to do maybe in the future I will try again.
  8. Since I live in a city with bortle scale 8-9 I need to use of a light pollution filter to image. My scope is a Redcat51 and my camera is the Zwo Asi2600Mc. I have a filter holder to use my L extreme filter when I want to do narrowband. But for broadband targets I need a light pollution filter. I was thinking to install permanently a light pollution filter on the scope/imaging train and leave it there. That means that if I want to use the L extreme I will use it alongside with the light pollution filter. Can this work? Or am I going to loose a lot of detail? Thank you, Nikolas.
  9. We are planing to move in another flat and I was always curious on which side of the night sky has more targets to photograph. I have been living mostly on Southern direction flats because of my sattelite dish and because I like having the Sun☀️ all day to my place. Its good for my flowers also 😊 At the last years I live on a top floor that has view on the South, West and a little North just enough so I can do a Polar alignment. Now I have found a new flat that has West, North and East View... which means that most probably I am not going to have the South transition of the objects that I have learned so well the past few years. Big question is.... Am i going to have nice nebula and galaxies from my new balcony? Thanks Nikolas.
  10. I am a little bit confused about these 2 filters and I was wondering if someone can make it more clear for me... I am looking for a good quality UV/IR cut filter that I can use for imaging broadband targets galaxies, clusters etc....at the same time because I live in a city with bortle class 8-9 skies I need also a Light Pollution suppression filter. My camera is the Zwo Asi2600Mc Pro which already has UV/IR cut protective glass but I am looking for something better. My first thought was the Astronomik L3 but then I saw the Ida's ones. My preference is the Ida's D3 but I don't know why the Lps P3 is a few pounds more expensive....is it better ? I am imaging with a Redcat51 and or an Esprit 100.
  11. Yes it works perfectly with 12 volts powered from my Pegasus astro pocket powerbox. Thanks
  12. Good morning, I have spend so much time trying to understand why this is happening... I do a polar alignment using Qhy Polarscope... Stellarium never shows dead center to Polaris even after I Plate Solve.. it is always a bit on the right side of Polaris Any ideas why? is it supposed to be like that? Many thanks Nikolas.
  13. Yes I know....just chasing my tail 🤪🤪🤪 in the lockdown period..
  14. Thanks vlaiv , the Redcat51 has a rotator so it rotates the whole camera setup at once....now, if the camera is rotated the image that I will get will be upsidedown...which not a big deal because I can rotate it afterwards but it gives me a small difficulty when I try to frame an object the way I want it... So in that case I must fix only the filter holder.... I was thinking to add a thin spacer / delrin ring so in that way it will stop in the position I want...
  15. As you can see the photo below , I have rotated my camera sensor to be at 90 degrees but my problem is that, in that way I can not open the filter drawer in case I want to change filters.... The filter drawer knob should be rotated upwards but that's impossible , any ideas on how I can screw/rotate only the Filter drawer but without rotating the camera ?
  16. Even if you modify banding stays the same it's on the sensor build. Try checking at the astronomy tools web site...there is a place that you can check which camera sensor size matches better your needs in Field of View.
  17. I have been doing astrophotography mainly from a Bortle 8-9 , I have changed lots of equipment hoping that something will offer me something better but at the end I realized that I am just spending my money. The most important part though is the filter that I will use....I have started from cheap filters only to end up to he most expensive Astrodons. So the only thing I wouldn't feel sorry to spend would be a good quality filter. There are still though objects that is impossible to see unless I go to a dark site no matter what I do or what equipment that I use. The other thing is that from the city sky I will never be able to get nice detail of the objects that I photograph.
  18. Maybe the famous Zwo Asi294mc pro would be a good option too , but still will give a you a wide field of view as well....
  19. The best suited camera for the Redcat51 when I was doing a research coming from the Atik 383+mono , was the ZWO ASI183 mono or color , but it didn't suit my needs also I was looking for something newer. There is no banding in the Asi2600mc pro...I didn't notice any. Before switching to dedicated astro camera's I use to have Canon , my last one was the 750d which had strong banding lines due to the new technology of the focus points in the sensor.
