Hi all, still getting to grip with planetary imaging, WOW, what a learning curve. C11 XLT CT, Zwo Asi 224MC and 2.5x powermate. Still a long way to go.

Excellent image, fantastic results.

Brilliant capture, well done. I've a C11 XLT CT so hope to get some decent imaging on Mars. Epic fails so far. Big learning curve, lol.

I have the same problem with my solarquest mount and eq6 adapter. Just turns but does not undo. Not found a remedy for this yet. Doesn't affect use, just annoying.

Yes, it's been fairly active of late but now gone quiet.

Custom made but you can buy the metal plates off flebay. I did for my neq6 you just need the right size metal plates to take your mounts puck.

Fantastic image, lot's of details, well done.

Couldn't a drone like craft be used to fly through Venuses atmosphere to sample the molecular structure. Assuming you could make one that would withstand the acid cloud's?

Aperture Fever. Is there a cure?
Nigella Bryant replied to sabana's topic in Getting Started General Help and Advice
I've stopped at my 12inch f4 newt and 11inch F10 SCT but I tend to use my Lunt 60mm DS solar scope more so I'm getting aperture fever with that and thinking I'd love a Lunt 100mm DS. After I'd got that I'd probably want bigger, lol. -
3.8 prism for the Star analyser 100 arrived. Hopefully get back into spectroscopy. I'd taken a few spectra a while ago. Probably be cloudy now, sorry guy's.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious, been quite a bit of activity over the summer months. Been getting images like this one attached on a monthly basis.

Collinmation breading paranoia
Nigella Bryant replied to Stu1smartcookie's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
My f4 newt has an offset and looking down the focuser tube it's not centered, worried me for ages before I found it was right. As posted before. -
Love the CaK. Well done.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Affinity Photo software for photo editing. I've got a really old copy of CS2 but don't want to buy yearly subscription for Photoshop as it's really expensive and life long purchase. Be good to know if it's any good. There's an article each month in Astronomy Now mag highlighting different ways it can be used with astro images. Particularly interested if it is good with LRGB images and processing.

Great capture, what telescope and camera did you use? Is this a single shot or stacked? Did you use RGB filters? 🤔
