  1. Hi, this is how i did it, i’m a contractor btw... There is a thread here of my build, if you like to see more
  2. Wouldn't the 150 be a tad on the heavy side for the EQ6R for AP ? I have the 120 , witch to me is a perfect fit for the EQ6R @ 67% of the rated maximum load capacity. Also have the SW corrector for it and a great performing TS 0,75 reducer making it a 630mm f5,25 for nebula season, alltough that 0,65 Apex reducer from Starizona would make it even faster at 546mm and f4,55...
  3. Hi, To me it is a perfect match, the mount has no trouble with the Esprit 120 and my guiding total RMS is typical around 0,5"/pix. The total weight of the telescope and everything attached to it is about 13,5 KG so i'm no where near the limit of 20kg for AP as stated in the manual (but we all know that would probably be pushing it)
  4. And another version, this time i also used Starnet and worked on the stars and nebula seperately Not there yet, but it was a good pix- exercise
  5. I think if you have a plastic foil under your sand cement mix ( in Belgium we say "Stabilisé" ) then i think you're OK, but a dehumidifier might be a good idea just to be sure.
  6. It's to bad that most smaller refractors always come with short dovetails, it's OK for visual, but once you get some AP gear on the back you're pretty much unable to get balance as i also experienced recently on my new TS 76EDPH. Stock and no balance, even with that Baader 1Kg weight up front. After a Primalucelab treatment ( 🤑 )
  7. Hi Ruz, Last year after only one year of use i couldn't live withe those heat noise images anymore so i broke the bank and got an ASI 1600 and never looked back, but i can see why many people still like their DSLR, it just wasn't for me anymore, putting all those hours in and no return... Keep making those reviews 👍
  8. I recently got an adaptor for the HEQ5, i've connected the mount to it on my desk to be sure and marked "top" no mistakes possible 😁
  9. After a bit of a wait, this arrived today, this reduces two boxes (old PPB and USB Hub) in to one and one less USB cable.
  10. A first proces is almost never the best. This is a reprocess using the SHO AIP script in PixInsight, i doubt it will be the last...
  11. Hi, this image was taken over a period from the end of May and last week, total integration time is 16.7hrs (5h50m Ha & 10h50m Oiii) EQ6R, Esprit 120 and ASI1600mm pro Version 1 Version 2 with a little less strong background
  12. Some gear to help with balance and cablemanagement and a pier plate for the HEQ5pro.
  13. I have one too, like mentioned above, it's a very good allrounder, lunar, planetary en brighter DSO's. Clusters, open and globular are no problem at all, some clusters are a tight fit off course, M 31, 81, 82, 101 and many more alike are in range of this instrument, of coarse the view won't be the same as with a 10" dob, but you can't put that in a backpack.
  14. Hi all, i've recently had some issues with my power supply's. I use two regulated 13,8V 10A (voltcraft FSP-11312 ) power supply's on my main imaging rig, one for the mount and one that powers all the rest via a pocket powerbox (PPB) from Pegasus astro. The power supply's are placed under the raised platform of my obs and connected to two cigarette lighter style sockets next to my pier, so i never see them, i do have a switch at my desk to turn of the power when not in use. So 2 weeks ago i powered up my gear and i heard a weird noise, went to investigate in the cold room of the obs and i immediately smelled a burnt scent, crap !, my EQDIR cable was literally melting, i pulled out the power cords and found my EQDIR RJ45 socket was stuck in the socket of my EQ6R, the plastic had molten. When pulling it out i damaged the RJ45 socket on the motherboard of the EQ6R, luckily my neighbor repairs PCB's for a living so my EQDIR cable and motherboard were fixed within a few days, the conclusion was the the EQDIR cable RJ45 socket was probably faulty and caused a short circuit. Happy that everything was fixed i reassembled my rig and powered up... another weird noise ! This time the burnt smell came from my ASI1600 😱 After some investigation i discovered that one of the power supply's was giving 28.6V in stead of 13.8V , that's what caused the damage on my EQ6R and after reassembly i probably switched the power cables causing an over-voltage on the PPB, luckily only the ASI1600 suffered damage. Although the PPB has a protection against over voltage, it clearly does not cut the power outputs fast enough to prevent damage. Once again my neighbor was able to fix my camera and he checked the power supply and suggested never to use those kind of power supply's again as there is no sufficient protection built in, so he provided me with two new power supply's. (wallet next to it for size) So to all, please be aware of this, this happend to my with a one year old power supply, i'm lucky to have a neighbor that can fix these kind of electronic problems, i'm sure i would have lost lots of time and effort dealing with these issues trough customer service from SW an ZWO. Clear skies !
  15. This came last week to put the TS 76 EDPH on i've received a few days earlier. A SW HEQ5 Rowan, polemaster adapter and ZWO motorfocuser. Picture above, all was in balance like this, alas, focus is 4cm out so i'm unable to balance with the stock dovetail and clamp. I've ordered new Primalucelab dovetails, rings and spacers, not cheap i might add...
  16. Also from Germany, TS (Sharpstar) 76 EDPH + corrector/reducer to F4,5
  17. This came last week unfortunately the heq5 pro i ordered is taking quite some time (24 days now) to get here from @FLO. On the other hand this came today, ordered it last week also from FLO. Kudos for that !
  18. Thanks, but I already pressed the button, so i’ll find out once they arrive. i hope the ASI 1600 and 120 stock is soon replenished...
  19. Anyone who uses these filters ? Are they any good and parfocal ? I'm about to press the button on a second mono cam + wheel + oag + filters, my existing camera uses Astronomik filters, using the Optolong filters on the second cam would save me some €€€
  20. i'm in the same situation here, going back and forth between an OSC or another 1600mm for the second rig, but i think i'll go mono.
  21. Not sure, i'm no expert by any means, but i would think the R data is going to be much brighter than the rest shot at unity. Personally i shoot LRGB at gain 76 and narrowband at 139, because that seems to be the consensus. The higher the gain, the lower the full well capacity, so high gain low exposure time, like ISO on a camera. This post might be useful as a guide.
  22. Hi, my obs is insulated kept at 16°C during winter and i have a dehumidifier keeping the RH at 55% give or take, so no issues at all
  23. You’re right, it’s a fine line to balance, i just wanted you to see there’s more detail collected in your subs than you would think. cheers
