Flats with autofocuser and multiple filters
Miguel1983 replied to Barns's topic in Imaging - Discussion
just read trough this tread, so there's really nothing written in stone i conclude. For my ASI1600mm -Pro i'm using a led panel and flats aid in APT. I have tried some different ADU settings, but was suggested by a friend to set it at 12000 and the minimum exposure not lower than 0,2sec. For Lum that's near impossible as the dimmest setting from the led panel is still to bright, so i've let go of the minimum exposure time and i also raised the ADU to 30000 as suggested by someone else. As i read this tread i might lower the ADU again maybe to 16000-20000 but that's going to affect the exposure time, especially on the Sii, so i was wondering is there a max exposure time for flats ? -
Bright star halos and reflections
Miguel1983 replied to Miguel1983's topic in Imaging - Tips, Tricks and Techniques
Currently i'm using the TS 0,75 reducer, haven't used the SW Flattener yet. The TS reducer/flattener is good, i posted some testshots with it here : I'm not sure it will fit the Esprit 80 out of the box, might need an extra adaptor for that. -
Bright star halos and reflections

Won't that induce more vignetting ? And i have little room left with my EFW and OAG crammed in 55mm (-backfocus 6,5mm) -

Thanks Wim, my problem is just getting to know Pix, it has a steep learning curve for someone who works construction on weekdays 😉 -
Bright star halos and reflections
Miguel1983 replied to Miguel1983's topic in Imaging - Tips, Tricks and Techniques
Yes i'm aware of that, but someone may have some tips to reduce the affect, other than less exposure time of course. I think i'll avoid targets like these for a while, i'm still getting used of the gear and Pixinsight, so i'm better of choosing a galaxy next time. -
Nice ! Good luck with the new mount ✨ When did you order the mount ? I've ordered a Skywacther mount an some bits on monday morning, all in stock, still no movement at FLO HQ tough 😞

Bright star halos and reflections
Miguel1983 posted a topic in Imaging - Tips, Tricks and Techniques
Hi, i’m aware this is what to expect on bright stars, but surly something must help in avoiding these halos. The image below is from my Ha data of IC443 with 4m exposures. Any tips are welcome 🙏 -
Stacking fail ?
Miguel1983 replied to Miguel1983's topic in Imaging - Image Processing, Help and Techniques
Ok, i'm getting somewhere now, i stacked various combinations, excluding flat, dark and bias one at a time, seems the bias is doing something here, no clue though. -

Stacking fail ?
Miguel1983 replied to Miguel1983's topic in Imaging - Image Processing, Help and Techniques
Hi, yes i have registered the subs and selected the highest score as my reference. Before stacking i did blink the subs in Pix and there were indeed signs of cloudhaze. -
Hi, i'm not new to this, but right now i not sure what's going on. Stacked my IC443 Ha subs (53x240s) and the stacked image doesn't show the DSO, stretching it to the max in DSS doesn't do anything, just some more stars show up. I thought DSS was the problem so i loaded the stack and a single sub in Pixinsight, same thing, image below show's an autostretch of the stacked image left and single sub right. Any idea's ? Thanks

Wow, nice review ! I can see this beeing a hit at public events, but you pay top dollar for the sleek design and development cost, and that's going to hold off a lot of people i guess. The Vaonis Stellina is even more expensive at €4000 .

Next package just arrived From Munich for the new rig. The Pegasus Pocket Power Box, a PSU and a temp sensor for my Sesto Senso.

I ordered a few items yesterday, since i upgraded from my ED80 + Canon to Esprit + ASI1600, my other gear is gathering dust so i decided tot build a lightweight AP setup. So the first item to arrive today is a 14" laptop, specifically a HP 14" I3 256SSD 8GB RAM. At first i was planning on getting the ZWO ASIAIR Pro, but there are always going to be some limitations to this, so i went for the laptop to get full control as i'm used to.

Hi, Will there be support for DSLR camera's on the ASIAIR PRO ?

DayStar Solar Scout SS60-DS 60mm
Miguel1983 replied to JBracegirdle's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
We did a side by side comparison on the same day. But, i guess seeing can mean a lot for the different systems, one might handle it better than the other ? -
It is weird tough, i have 4 weights bought at different times, none of them slip. You might want to work on your hand muscles 😅

DayStar Solar Scout SS60-DS 60mm
Miguel1983 replied to JBracegirdle's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
The difference between the Quark standalone, more expensive, and the one fixed on the solarscout 60 is that the standalone has a 21mm clear aperture and 12mm blocking filter, the one in the solarscout has 16mm of clear aperture, the Coronado PST has a 5mm blocking filter. My astronomy club mates and myself found that the view in the daystar was a bit brighter than with the Solarmax 2 60mm and the Lunt 50mm, so in my experience the solarscout is a great solarscope for the money. -
DayStar Solar Scout SS60-DS 60mm
Miguel1983 replied to JBracegirdle's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
I have the Daystar solarscout and in our astronomy club other members have a Coronado and Lunt, all of the members who looked trough my Daystar were surprised by the quality of the view, certainly for this pricepoint. I'm really looking forward to some more solar activity and getting more into solar imaging.
