  1. I rarely use my 8mm (x293) on the planets, i find the view is much nicer at a lower magnification with more detail visible.
  2. A 9x50 finder scope and QHY camera would do a decent job, the camera is quite old but still would do a decent job.

  9. Fantastic photos and video! Love hearing the waves lapping against the shore during your captures, thanks for sharing your special memories šŸ™‚
  10. I prefer the Powermate image for the Filament, but the Proms looks more detailed to me without it.
  11. Is this link any use ? ZWO Low Profile Nosepiece by yvmo - Thingiverse
  12. Incredible amount of active regions all at the same time, been a while since we have seen this level of activity!
  13. Excellent set of images, good to see some really nice Filaments back on show. Two very large ones currently visible, seems like the activity of cycle 25 is really beginning to get going.
  14. Lovely set of images, some really nice Proms to go with the surface detail.
  15. Only the 2nd session at my new workplace in MK, still getting my bearings in terms of shadows from building and trees. Especially this time of the year where the Sun still does not get very high. the usual white light and H/a captures, white light with Evostar 120mm and wedge, H/A with the Lunt 50mm. It took a few attempts to get the white light disc to stack correctly using AS3. This is another single max frame capture using the Asi174mm at max size, then allowing disc to drift though the field of view as i record. I found by putting the alignment box in position where it is always going to be visible allowed the stack to expand correctly during stacking. Unfortunately not a perfect H/A 12 pane mosaic disc again, another irritating misalignment on the edge that i have not been able to remove during stacking.
  16. I am fortunate enough to be able to keep it out side in a box, which i store in my home observatory.
  17. They were capture size, i should have mentioned i used a X1.8 Barlow as well. Definitely a bit over the top in terms of resolution. I think going forward i should be using my 174mm, rather than the 290mm, just for the Global shutter ahead of the rolling shutter. With either native FL, or a x2 x3 Barlow used it will give me more flexibility.
  18. Not in the slightest, amazing the images that are captured with camera phones these days.
  19. A fine set of images, very nice Ca-k proms!
  20. Excellent example of the difference Nigella between the filters. I thought about one a few few years back, but i didn't think it was worth the investment. I would love a Ca-K scope though šŸ™‚
