  1. Great stuff John. I never tire of looking at pics of lovely scopes. Have a good session tonight 👍🏻
  2. Then Vixen HR 3.4 is a superb eyepiece. Benefits from smooth slo-mos or driven mount due to field of view.
  3. Yes, please post pics of both, please I had a lovely 6-inch Fullerscopes Newtonian in the 70s
  4. The C11 is much heavier and bulkier. A major consideration if you don’t have a permanent set up
  5. Ouch, sorry to hear this. It’s a nightmare I often think about, although my mount is supposed to cut power if the current increases such as if the scope won’t move - never put it to the test, yet.....
  6. I was observing for about 30mins then thin high cloud covered the sky within 5 mins 👎🏻
  7. The above video was from the 1989 tv prog Earth Calling Basingstoke. Can’t find the whole prog, but some excerpts here (but no Rosemary)
  8. You can see Rosemary Naylor at 1min15 here
  9. I have the BBHS mirror diagonal. I was agonising whether to try the BBHS prism, but the comments on here have convinced me otherwise 😊👍🏻
  10. No plans. I’m sure they are excellent, but hard to imagine they are better than the Vixen HRs. Mind you, the TOE 4 is tempting as Vixen don’t cover that FL
  11. Ah, don’t get me going on the travesty of undercuts, John 🤣
  12. No, not got my hands on one, Gerry. When I started to think about one, they promptly stopped making them. This is unusual as normally when I finally get around to buying new Astro kit, it’s promptly passed over by a newer and superior product 😊. Exception is Tak, of course! Another consideration is that I usually find the biggest gains with eyepieces at the extremes of the range: high power planetary (and I still the Pentax XP3.8 was a winner and I am an idiot for moving it on) and low power wide field. I should also confess I’m no means an expert visual observer as I mainly do CCD. But I’d love to try a Doctor 👍🏻
  13. My good, I never tire of your wonderful sketches Achim, @acr_astro!
  14. Interesting you mention the XL 28. Not often cited on here. Is it a favourite of yours?
  15. Wow, another beauty Achim @acr_astro👍🏻
