  1. I imaged this one of the Running Man Nebula remotely a few nights ago in Spain with the 17in Planewave and FLI16803 CCD,.....Unfortunately someone in a neighbouring observatory left on an IR light from a camera!!!..But despite the artefacts from the IR I still thought it was worth processing. Image exposure was 2Hrs each in Ha RGB all 600s sub exposures. Thanks for taking a look Peter Shah
  2. I just keep these exposures short enough not to show too much trailing in the comet. Otherwise I would get star trailing which IMO would look worse.....Every comet is different so if its a faster moving comet I would do two data sets one to track the comet and the other sidereal. Thank you Mark
  3. Thanks Bob, It was better than I though it would be if I'm honest
  4. Thank you Richard....I will give it another go in a few days time
  5. ah yes....I think the reason I thought 21st is the moon is out of the way best for imaging
  6. lovely star colour.....like jewels....
  7. Thank you Jody, I love the little barred spiral in the left side of the frame
  8. Thank you Mark, isn't it around the 21st it get closest to the Earth? could be wrong but lets hope its a good show.
  9. Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) I imaged this remotely from Spain 31st December 2022 4:30am with Epsilon 180ed and ZWO ASI2400MC pro Exposure time was 45mins total using 60s subframes. Cheers Peter
  10. lovely job on that, I like your first rendition....wonderful detail
  11. Thank you Olly, to be honest I did process it at least five times and at first I wasn't happy with the noise levels. However as you know it's very much part and parcel with this object type. I have a thing for dark nebula! I have found the key is careful calibration, without it you wont get nearly as much out as a lot of the signal sits very close to the noise floor. So I have a very specific routine for preparing the foundation of the data.
  12. It is certainly a busy part of the sky, NGC1539 is a tiny spec in the upper right quadrant of the frame. Coordinates are for the centre of the frame are: RA: 04 30 12 Dec: 25 43 22 It is slightly north of the horns of the Bull, but there's plenty going on to the North going up to IC438 and NGC1333 near Perseus and then over to the California Nebula. .....its a huge area!! Thank you Dan
  13. it really does demonstrate the where everything is in the region.....lovely shot
  14. Nicely done Dan, the latest process is a lot better, beautiful detail and star colour...great image
  15. I love the fact you have left green in this image....its quite often removed.....very sympathetic processing....really lovely
  16. The second is a much better rendition, Lovey colour balance and star colour
  17. another cracking image Olly. I've noticed they out do each other every time an update comes out.
