  1. Thank you Craig I will still probably go back to it with a different scope next year... To be honest its been many years since I imaged M57, avoiding it as I never really saw it as a wide field object.... What actually was most surprising to me was the colour tones in the shell as I processed the Ha and OIII. It showed the delicate yellows with a slight hint of blue.
  2. Thank you....It was a bit of a challenge to process, that Hydrogen in the background is pretty faint
  3. Thank you....amazing how things have moved on here is a comparison from my very first CCD image taken with a borrowed Meade LX 2180 from the Birmingham Astronomical Society and my very first CCD camera MX5 from nearly 30years ago...
  4. Thank you....I was nicely surprised with the colour that came out when I processed the O3 and Ha mix...wasnt expecting that
  5. In a haze of Hydrogen, M57 Ultra deep field showing it's layers of extended shell and background. Imaged remotely from Spain with the 12inch ASA Newtonian and ASI2600MM pro. Exposure times were 2hrs in RGB all 60s subs, 6hrs of OIII, 180s subs, and 23and a half hrs of H-alpha all 180s subs. Its worth zooming in to see the layers in the shell, I was quite surprised at the colour pallet that the OIII and Ha gave. Trying to pull out core detail in this is generally difficult on M57 due to its apparent size even more so on such wide field so rather than just do the ring itself I set out to see if there was any background H-alpha.... Thanks for looking Peter Shah
  6. Doesn't seem to matter how dark the sky is there always seems to be some gradients to deal with. Although not as bad as it could be with the low altitude it was still a challenge to get the gradients under control enough to get a seamless stitch. I had to abandon DBE as it wasn't able to cope well enough without causing other artefacts.
  7. Well hats off to you for trying Mandy 👏 it really is a remarkable part of the sky
  8. Thank you Roy, to be honest The Epsilon 180ed and full frame asi2400 gives a huge FOV but this region I probably could have got away with 4panels and still would have a field full of stars!
  9. thank you I tend to agree, I could have done a four panel mosaic and there would still be enough stars to fill the frame
  10. Thats a lot of stars!.....M11 The Wild Duck Cluster and Barnards 110 dark Nebula. A two panel Mosaic imaged remotely from Spain with the Takahashi Epsilon 180ED and ZWO 2400MC pro full frame camera, Total exposure time was 5hours. Worth taking a look at the full res. Thanks Peter
  11. Thank you, the extended shell is pretty faint
  12. Thank you, For some reason it reminds me of an iris
  13. very deep Olly, not easy to do....great job
  14. Thank you Robin, yes its not far away from the Crescent, its most commonly seen as an arch and takes quite a bit to pull out the full extension of the shell .
  15. thats a lot to get done in one go....great set of images
  16. Thank you..... Its overlooked by all of the other jewellery in Cygnus
  17. WR134 a Wolf Rayet star in Cygnus, imaged remotely from Spain with the 17in Planewave at f/6.8, FLI16803 CCD camera. 1hour each for the RGB 300s sub exposures, 2hours in H-alpha 600s sub exposures and nearly 12hrs of OIII all 600s sub exposures. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop. Thanks for looking Peter Shah
  18. Thank you. The core has some lovely colour to it and its really stunning in the HST pallet also....I might get some S2 s I can do an HST version
  19. M17 The Swan Nebula imaged remotely from Spain with the 12in Newtonian f3.6 and ZWO ASI 2600mm pro. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop. Exposure time s were 16 x 120s in Red, 20 x 120s in Green, 30 x 120s in Blue, 60 x 120s in H-alpha, 34 x 300s in OIII a total of just over 6hrs. Cheers Peter
  20. Thank you Olly, its likely overlooked because of it proximity to Rho Ophiuchus and this image is part of much larger project 😉
