  1. Thank you Francis...the seeing has been good recently really helping this image
  2. that is strange Rodd... definitely lost the red in the outer shell somehow...I suspect it is there in the raw data though.....still a great image all the same
  3. Imaged remotely from Spain. The centre of the Eagle Nebula in RGB taken with the 16in ODK and the ASI2600MM pro.... This scope I stripped down and rebuilt from the ground up and other than a few test shots this is the first real data set since finishing it. Exposure times were 40x 180s in each RGB filter and unguided with the ASA DDM85. Thanks for looking Peter Shah
  4. love this colour rendition...beautiful detail
  5. I still have an old Apogee in my shed somewhere with 1024x1024 24u pixels....possibly the same sensor....not even sure if it still works...probably not
  6. Love it!!!....ah yes the blooms....I remember them well...I had the FLI Max cam (non Anti Blooming Gate version) back then it was super sensitive, over 90% QE without the coverslip... I had to rotate it so the blooms wouldn't line up with my diffraction spikes....was a great camera
  7. The observatory is pretty well insulated so isn't as much of an issue if I'm honest and all of the reflectors are holding collimation really well. Cooling on the evening takes a fraction longer but the roof is set to open earlier to help with that. Last night I noticed the temperature drop was very rapid. I took a screen shot as it was very unusual.
  8. Thank you....The 2600 I can still get down to -10 comfortably but the 6200 being much larger only -5.... but thats only on the evenings so planning calibration frames can be a little tricky as day time temperatures are silly at present.
  9. Thank you Adrian. The scope is a standard ASA12N Newtonian. It has its own 3in 0.95x Wynne type corrector/reducer made by ASA...... they don't make them anymore.
  10. Ah yes the pain of equipment issues....I know it well!!.....a very deep rendition, beautiful work
  11. Thank you Francis... Thank you.... I tried several colour pallets variations but settled on SHO in the end
  12. SH2_115 in Cygnus imaged in SII Ha OIII and RGB. Done remotely from Spain with the 12in ASA Newtonian f3.6 and ASI2600MM pro. I collimated it 2 years ago after stripping it to wash the optics....Its such a stable scope even with the extreme heat of Spain. Exposure times were 3 hrs in SII, 4hrs in Ha and 5hrs in OIII all 300s subs. Plus 1hr each in RGB all 120s subs. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop to finish it off. Thanks for looking Peter Shah
  13. Here is an image I processed of M81, M82 and the surrounding IFN using a downloadable Data Set. (I wont say where from as I don't want it to be seen as advertising on the forum). Imaged with The Epsilon 180ED and ASI2400MC Pro in Spain. This shot uses 3hrs of OSC and 2hrs of Ha/OIII all 180s sub exposures Processed with Pixinsight and Photoshop. Its the first time I've processed using Dual Band filters on a ONC camera. The Epsilon 180ED was known for halos especially with Narrow Band filters, no signs of that with these filters, I think filter technology must have advanced quite a bit. Thank for looking Peter

    lovely detail Rodd
  15. Beautiful job Goran....I would love to go down under and see what is on offer in the sky there
  16. Thank you... I first did it about 20years back with an LX10.... but only because it had the FL and a tiny sensor and I couldn't get M42 in lol ....I just love the range of colour in it
  17. Thank you James...no that isnt the artefact......that was just my lazy process...I normally run it through a defect Map to repair the one bad column on this camera. ....I had to do some work to minimise the effect of the IR...its every where in the frame......I can still see them...the main one is a great big red arc going from 9 o'clock to 1 o'clock...but there are a few others that I was able to tame.
  18. Lovely rendition of the Seagull James
