  1. Me neither, I suspect people like him are so used to "achieving" that a real specialist disagreeing with them is hard to take. While not in any way decrying his achievements he has always seemed to me to be a bit of a dilettante throwing money to achieve his ambitions.

That video goes perfectly with Blue Monday by New Order
  3. I stuck a skywatcher 10.1 Crayford on my evo 120 and it works a treat. I couldn't justify the cost of a steeltrack or moonlight on my scope and this focusser supports a dslr without slippage and has a really nice action.
  4. Blimey, those scopes look about f30 at least.
  5. I had a look at Venus too. It really needs filtering though
  6. Hi Martin, welcome. This could become an interesting thread in the " history of astronomy" forum in the science section
  7. Just a couple of Skywatcher achros. The garden can be very dark after about 11 p.m due to judicious placement of hedges, sheds etc. Most of the light illuminating the scopes is actually from our little led solar lamps, my own worst enemy me.
  8. Looks good mate. Skyatnight mag gives it a good write up on FLO's website.
  9. Concur with all you've said about the 102. Great little scope although it does produce a little more CA than my evo 120 achro.
  10. The likes of Synta make workable kit available to the masses. The majority us who just need something that works well at a reasonable price to pursue a hobby are happy to spend a few hundred quid. I think though if I intended to start spending thousands I'd be looking at someone a bit more specialised than Skywatcher.
  11. If you're flocking the tube you'll be killing two birds with one stone p.s awful saying.
  12. That looks great, what's the best way to fit a finderscope or red dot?
  13. ST80? Brilliant work.
  14. Knighty2112 on the forum has done quite a bit of work on his ST120, he'll have some advice. Hasn't been on lately though.
  15. What is it ? It looks great. I thought it was a micrometer from a funny angle at first but I'm sure I can see "scope" on the front.
