  1. Very Posh... you'll have to get more for the wall panelling
  2. Brilliant !! ?, now stop the building, so that the skies have a chance to clear......
  3. I also added another 2040 rail, as per the rear rail (full width, with rollers), so my bed sits on a moveable frame within the frame, but I only then need two motors for the Z axis. Then, using four corner bolts, I levelled & fixed the bed, and, touch wood, I've not had to re-do it...
  4. I have fully patched, including the latest, multi Win 10's & Server 19's, & don't see the issue, have you tried updating the video drivers to the latest versions, as they are not always updated via the Windows update system....
  5. If the motor gets hot, try setting "coil power - off" in your configuration settings, for me, its not needed, as the motor holds position ok with no power, but then I use motors with planetary gearboxes.
  6. Nah, I'd say yours is definitely "Retro Steam Punk"....
  7. Well you keep them down your way, I'm trying to complete a Horsehead set (just need to finish some blues)....
  8. Nah, keep on as normal, otherwise you're just giving in..... These days, I find I may need to re-think some things through a few times, but half the fun is getting the right result in the end. Whether that be something I've designed & printed or some electronic system(s) I happen to be re-visiting e.g. currently fixing up an old Maplin 5600 synthesizer I built years ago, but was left languishing in an attic, so needs a little TLC, but some of the original components (ic's) are no longer available, so have to make do with some alternatives and adjust circuits to suit....
  9. Apart from the physical differences, of connector layouts etc. it just has a standard build of Ubuntu (or any distro that will run Indi\Kstars).
  10. Agreed, forget the Raspberry, instead, I have gone for the Rock64\RockPro64 boards (https://www.pine64.org/?page_id=7147) more grunt, & USB 3 port & gigabit ethernet, all in a small package, & can run Indi\Ekos system.
  11. A standard Indi\KStars setup will happily control an AZ-EQ6.... well it does mine...
  12. Is that to make up for the lack of stars ?….
  13. Welcome to the Lounge, I don't know the scope, but I'm sure some of the old timers will be along shortly, to help you out....
  14. I think you want to check belt tensions and retraction settings, as there appears to be some layer shift, but not every layer, so could be something going on with Z axis movements, but for me, stringing usually means I have to tune extrusion\retraction....
  15. On Farnell & RS, there are solenoids of 50N plus, granted they are more expensive £30-£40, but then how much do you want to ensure the safety of your gear and want reliable operation....
  16. As usual they come in all shapes, sizes, actuating\holding voltage, forces... What I suspect you're after, but may be totally wrong, is a "Pull Type Linear" solenoid, i.e. retracts on energising, but spring returns, on de-energising, & yes I used similar devices in broadcast installations, to ensure transmission security. I see even Amazon have some https://www.amazon.co.uk/pull-solenoid/s?page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Apull solenoid
  17. That why I was looking @ linear actuators\solenoids... RS do some @ reasonable prices i.e. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/linear-solenoids/1770138/ Yes, there are way more expensive ones, but if all you want to do is lock something into place, then they are ideal, we used to use them on old remote controlled Telecine machines, where to stop people opening doors\casings & loosing fingers etc., its the same principle on washing machines....
  18. Any way of fitting linear actuators? larger ones could be used to open\close openings, while smaller ones could be used to lock\unlock the roof....
  19. Then have a peruse through this lot https://www.aniwaa.com/the-best-resin-3d-printer-sla-and-dlp/ …. Some look quite interesting, if it wasn't for the initial machine cost (even the kit Chinese ones), then I may be tempted.... I personally would probably go for the Prusa machine, as I already use a lot of his stuff, including printer & software.
  20. Personally, I'd also print a cover for those fuses, dew\frost can easily short them....
