  1. I decided to finally tackle the tilt on my star 71 and i think I've finally won.
  2. Cash isn't worth a thing, if you don't spend it.
  3. I wouldn't worry too much about the 183 amp glow. I use both, a qhy183m and qhy183c and the amp glow calibrates out perfectly fine with correct calibration frames Of you're interested in the 1600 now, I notice there is one in the classifieds section on here for £800
  4. For those who are interested, it didn't work. It didn't take out the amp glow, but left it looking really weird, noise everywhere along with hot pixels and the image was a complete mess. It was interesting to try though.
  5. 100% Also gave me a little chuckle to myself.
  6. Some beautiful images in here. I'm ashamed to say that in my haste to charge a dead battery for a few minutes to take some images, I completely messed up the focus. After it died and went back on charge for another few minutes i ended up with only 2 images which i had to stand on a chair, that sat on top of a bench, to reach a low roof to be able to take these 2 pictures.
  7. I've just came here to give the heads up but you beat me to it. Beautiful display and it's the first time I've seen them
  8. I do hope you can make it this year
  9. Great news. Does this mean FLO will stock the same products that is currently available at iankingimaging?
  10. Amazingly beautiful. I've still yet to see them with my own eyes
  11. Have you thought about putting an ad in the classifieds section? I recently got a WO Flattener 4 for a bargain price of £85.
  12. For a full frame camera I'd say them stars aren't too bad at all. How many optics actually do give round stars on a full frame camera? And in this price range?
  13. It is alot of work but worth it for a clean final image. I'm not sure about the dither function with the star adventurer as I've never tried. You could always manually dither every few subs and still get reasonable results
  14. Looks like all the effort you've put in has paid off for a pleasing final image. To answer your first question, yes it definitely looks like walking noise to me. You can always manually dither with the SA by using the fire tion buttons on the side of it. Just remember to wait a short while after pressing them to remove backlash. Well done
  15. That's definitely 29 hours well spent. Was this with the 183m? What scope was used?
  16. I do cover it when it's cold or I'm out doing a long imaging session.
  17. Maybe check out the recent Imaging challenge thread. It was a constellation challenge
  18. When I used to image with an atik 383L I'd always have an issue with frosting on the window and would need to wait for it to "melt" before I could start imaging. With the qhy183c I've never had this problem or any condensation problems and I do cool it quite quickly. My qhy183c does have amp glow on the right hand side that looks quite scary when just the lights are stacked, (it's definitely not "pollution" as no matter how the camera is oriented, it's always in the same place) but it completely calibrates out when using the correct calibration frames. I've never had a problem with any remaining amp glow after correct stacking. Hope this helps.
  19. I haven't taken any darks with the qhy183m yet. Busy at work. I will do when I get the chance though
  20. I will give it a go once manage to get an imaging session in, just for fun. Last night I managed to polar align, focus and get my spacing (almost) right (which happened to be on my first attempt) and four 10 second subs before clouds stopped play.
  21. You may be slightly under sampled with the qhy 10 but if you end up getting a longer focal length newt or frac later on then this will bring your sampling down and not be over sampled.
  22. Well my camera arrived yesterday whilst I was at work. I put it on my flt98 earlier today and if the forecast remains true I'll be able to test it tomorrow. I'm not holding much hope for the forecast though.
  23. I'm sorry. That'll be me with and the new kit paradox. New qhy183m on my flt98 and old qhy183c on my star 71.
  24. A qhy183m arrived today to accompany my current qhy183c. Now I need to work out how to use them both together with APT.
