Long time ago but what I probably meant was that it improves the depth of focus range making adjustments less critical. Alan

Mounts are thought to be an easy environment for grease due to the slow speeds involved but it is in fact the complete opposite, grease moves over time and "pools" into spaces causing the bearings to run dry and with no fast rotation to pick it up and re distribute it the situation gets worse over time. I will be shot down but the skywatcher black sticky grease is the best that I have found. Alan

I use a camera lens dew strap that runs off a 5V power bank, got it off Amazon. Alan

I would add that a modified DSLR might not be able to achieve focus with a camera lens although should be ok with a modern one that can go to infinity and beyond. Alan

I had this problem when I swapped the original grub screws on my polar scope for thumbscrews, soon swapped back. Alan

The Pluto trigger is basically a smart wireless DSLR shutter remote control that is operated via a phone app, the unit has built in sensors for sound and light triggers so can detect lightening strikes for example during the day as well as doing HDR or just used as a intervalometer. The app is very powerful and allows for lots of differing configurations. Alan

I do think a large block of concrete would make an excellent earthquake detector, a few years ago I had a very minor quake that shook the walls of the house and dislodged ornaments so ran outside to find the the ground completely still... Alan

It looks like a very well designed EQ mount to me, far far far better than any commercial products I have seen for a DSLR and lens.. Alan

Had a quick search for this device but could not find any info regarding setting of timer, it looked like its a manual shutter release with wireless connectivity which would require you to press the shutter again to stop the exposure. Do you have a link to the model you have? Alan

Did you have the Canon set to bulb?, the reason I ask is that in this configuration the camera requires a pulse to start and one to stop but only a single pulse if the camera was set at 30 seconds. The point being is was the remote set to start and stop the exposure. Alan

If you have a photo tripod with a ball head then use it with the head tilted at 90 degrees to the vertical, I use mine with a 90mm Mak and every bit as good as a dedicated ALT-AZ mount. Alan

No idea if I have seen it before but will watch it, in fact I could watch it every day and would never know if I had seen it. Alan

Oops, was looking at your sig that showed a 200P, for visual a frac should be on an ALT AZ mount and a reflector on an EQ provided you can rotate the tube, anything else is painful if like me you have to stand to view. Alan
