  1. I see these units especially useful for capturing meteors etc considering the often reasonable results you get from doorbell cameras ... Alan
  2. I had always thought that the Universe was tiny, smaller than a photon or electron... Alan
  3. I want to know how big or small NOTHING is too. 😋 Alan
  4. I would be up for a dip into outer space for a few seconds, cant be worse than sticking hour arm into a hot oven or a freezer, things we do most days or even a flame.. Alan
  5. I treat this annoying tingle the same way I would noise in one of my Valve amp designs that have separate ground and signal earths tied together with a 1-10 K OHM resistor with a 10 nano farad cap in parallel with it. Alan
  6. I remember shortly after my stroke many years ago that I began to smell colours which lasted for a few years and have wondered if for example an Alien species that processed the EM spectrum as sound or scent etc could develop a greater understanding of the Universe or Math's than us or is visualization on a PC screen or book the only way.. So complex math's without numbers or symbols.
  7. Man created the universe we see today, without us time has no meaning so an infinite number of universes may have existed before this one.. Alan
  8. I understand the need for these things, I live in a UK city not far from the center and cant get full fibre broadband for another 7 years so could be tempted 😋 Alan
  9. My needs are simple, a 70mm refractor with fixed 6x magnification and a correct image view with internal focusing, it should have zero CA or other defects and be nitrogen purged... It should also not have a commercial eyepiece in its construction as they all have some issues but should have a soft rubber eyecup assembly. The military have some and I was lucky enough to look through one a few years ago and nothing today comes even close to the clarity and colour of the pinpoint stars. Alan
  10. Just the onboard RDNA 2 graphics GPU score integrated within the Rysen 6900HX processor. Alan
  11. Just ran passmark for a laugh on my Mini PC with integrated graphics and got 5364.. Alan
  12. Samyang 14mm f/2.8, manual lens but one of the best or the 28mm version. Alan
  13. The ideal way of supplying 12V over long distances is by using the 4 wire method, two current carrying wires and two thin sense wires which all go to the mount, unfortunately few commercial power supplies have this. The method you are using does the same thing but with 4 wires the PSU senses the load so adjusts the output voltage accordingly showing a constant 12 or 13V on the display even though the actual output wires might be a lot higher. Alan
  14. It reminded me of your left field design for a focuser.. Good to have new ideas. Alan
  15. I thought only the Guardian/Telegraph and Observer had that honor of lining a Budgie cage... its all they are good for.. Give me a proper newspaper any day 😀 Alan
  16. As it should be 🙂 Just need a second or third one now for a really fast system... Alan
  17. USB mini here too on the Canon 80D, do wish they would change over to USB-C that would also offer the option of powering the camera from a laptop etc.. Alan
  18. I think the framing is perfect, a nice portrait of an Alien.. Alan
  19. Nice work, without going down the rabbit hole of AP I do feel there is a real need for a small tracking mount dedicated for use with mobile phones. I have a dedicated video rig complete with external mics and a tiny pan tilt mount simply because of the advancements in phone technology.. Alan
  20. I just bought a Rysen 9 6900hx powered mini running at 45 watts with a boost up to 65 watts and its fast, the integrated RDNA 680m graphics are on a par with a desktop GTX 1050 Ti card, it is also running DDR5 RAM.. Alan
  21. The technology is amazing, must give it a try on the subject of time travel 😃 Alan
  22. Looks good to me although I would only ever use a lens pen on a frac or camera lens.. Alan
  23. Definitely stars and ideally with JWT spikes, not a fan of the star size reduction software either as it produces fakes.... Alan
  24. I am amazed that we still allow excuses for failures these days, its not rocket science anymore its developing nearly 100 year old technology that we ought to have nailed by now. Alan
