  1. Try solving using astap in APT if you have more problems find it more reliable,
  2. Configure stellaium in settings, stellarium scope now not needed ,update to latest version of stellarium .
  3. Processed in Startools 1.7 .417 Alpha, used SHO in colour module ,
  4. +1 Anydesk , if you have an issue where you keep losing connection after a while check permissions in windows firewall is ticked best one I’ve used so far .
  5. No there was star trails picture by a chap that bought my telescope
  6. Platesolving in APT 👍,Goto++ Is brilliant and reliable, changed to the ASTAP Plugin for blindsolving found it more reliable if you use at least 1600 Iso .
  7. I found lowering the exposure time to 1 sec from three made a big difference conditions allowing that is and use the predictive pec algorithm.
  8. Clear sync points in Eqmod that’ll be your likely culprit
  9. I’ve been plagued with getting good flats with primarily my 8” Newtonian I just don’t think using the El panel they work correctly on the vignetting , I just came across a blog http://astronomy.colinrmitchell.com/index.php/2020/06/15/taking-flats-with-a-large-newtonian/ where this chap seems to have found the answer by using a projection screen and a light box to illuminate screen , now a few years back I used to point my scope at the living room window for flats and I can’t seem to remember having issues, the window is probably 20ft away So next time I use the Newtonian I’m going to re try this method and see if this works better than the El panel and maybe create a custom park so it centres on the window.
  10. I don’t use PI personally ,but I know Ivo Jager Startools developer rates pixinsight ‘s stacking Capabilities , I also came across this https://2eba8069-5418-4763-8796-2cbacac60991.filesusr.com/ugd/f27d5c_b17c8fb7833643e9b46a931daf750395.pdf. last week ,my pixinsight guide by Michael caller on iOS book store free download which may be helpful .
  11. Looks great a reorientated picture would look better 👍
  12. Here’s what I did 600mm square hole approx 800mm deep , all depends started to hit water table , 4x 1200 mm rebar hammered into hole base to give concrete extra hold , run some 75mm gutter pipe(Bigger the better I used 40mm too small ) Into hole for cabling running to centre even if your not feeding cable just future proof , I built a frame think of it as a top hat with a lid that can be screwed to top of frame and drill pier fixing holes attach threaded bar 600mm long securing with nut either side of ply top board Remember to bend last 150mm so bar can’t unthread from concrete place in hole making sure it doesn’t snag anything, no point drilling that’s extra work and not required , hire electric mixer from hire centre ,pour concrete then push top hat into concrete and screw down and let set , you can now use the nuts on the underside to level pier if required as the concrete will shrink slightly enough to get a spanner on pics attached to give you an idea how I did it .
  13. I find the Nikon has a better response in red to my old canon 1000d stock
  14. I’ve had the 200p now got the 200pds there is not a lot between them imo other than the 200pds has a better focuser ,slightly shorter tube , 200p focused with a dslr just the same all down to pennies .
  15. Nice image Alcant there’s ha dust in the nebula to be had ,probably more data required , I had 4 hrs on mine ,and another 4hrs may bring more detail ,I like your stars I think I need to trim my draw tube a tad not as nice as yours .
  16. I have a canon 500d which has a mark (dent/chip) on the anti aliasing filter I could have the Baader filter mod which would solve issue in that this would be removed and still use for daytime or I could get replacement filter is it worth the mod I was thinking of getting mod and selling my modded 1000d , Juan can fix for £74 or Baader mod for £134 what’s the thoughts on this is it worth it , main Astro dslr is Nikon d5300 stock .
  17. With the mount in park position ie weights down ,scope pointing to the sky ,
  18. I use Siril scripts then the resulting fit file from each session I just stack these together, seems to work I was told that way by one of the siril team that posts the YouTube videos, quick and easy , maybe the lazy way but it works .
  19. Your camera is iso invariant 200 iso is the sweet spot on d5300 processing will pull detail out you’ll gain nothing but noise using a higher iso , the d5300 is a brilliant Astro camera 👍 assuming shooting RAW
