  1. First time you use it focus with the bahtinov so you know your in focus , then open auto focus craft and focus aid , press start in run and let autofocus aid do it’s magic , you may Need to tweak settings see how default works let it run once finished check with the bahtinov to see what the bahtinov spike looks like, the new focus algorithm is very good .
  2. Have you tried a different bahtinov preferably not a clear one which I’m assuming the Williams optics one is could it be if it is the clear type light refracting off the plastic edge ? Maybe 🤔
  3. YES , I’m assuming you mean using your setup st80 and guide camera , platesolving using your qhy8 , as stated above ,setup APT to Platesolve using ASTAP blisteringly fast once configured .
  4. Two images with the zwo533mc and a 200pds mind
  5. One has a square sensor and no amp glow but you can still get m42 and m31 in fov the 183 has bigger sensor and amp glow that will calibrate out with darks , I have the zwo533mc and it’s an amazing camera the 183 is slightly better scale for your scope , take a look on astronomy tools http://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/.
  6. Restacked in DSS , best 80% 8.5hrs , processed in Startools 1.8.512
  7. A 1000mm fl 200pds using the zwo533mc bin 2x2 works out ok at about 1.22 pix if memory serves me well .
  8. It’s a fantastic camera I did same target for first light a few weeks ago with the 200pds , your imaging just stepped up a few gears 👍🤩
  9. I’ve just done some data with darks , I will try without , which seem fine with
  10. I’d say maybe 650- 700 tops I may be wrong depends what the buying market want to pay ,the cost of having it tuned and belt modded won’t be recovered in the resell cost more of a thing to do to a mount if your intending to keep long term .
  11. Thanks mick , I had an issue with deconvoloution and used Dim small in the super structure module in Startools which softened it a bit but I will have a play and hopefully maybe a clear night and more data may help .
  12. If I’m not mistaken isn’t Polaris actually a double star ? , I’ve never had a problem using the bahtinov aid in APT hover the cross hair over the centre and press calculate that will tell you how close to focus you are , maybe next outing verify on a different bright star , if you get round to an autofocuser the autofocus routine in Apt is very accurate .
  13. Depskydad af units dont need a usb lead if using the optional hand controller .
  14. A deepskydad Af2 had WiFi not sure on the Af3 email Pavle I’m sure he will be able to tell you .
  15. Small object mind so is that spiral Galaxy at 1 o’clock
  16. Ngc 7822 in Cepheus 7.2 hrs 180 sec exposures , sw200pds ,zwo533mc optolong L Extreme filter, processing in Startools
  17. Lynx Astro one I have beat the old hitec Astro one I had hands down , better cable , better usb plug .
  18. You don’t need live view for focus in APT , take a 10 sec image of a bright star and adjust and redo focus to suit using the bahtinov focus aid in tools menu ,put the cross on the bahtinov star a press calculate and it will tell you how close to focus you are .
  19. I’d highly recommend Startools free to try for as long as you like , you can’t save unless bought, but you can screen grab until you feel like you would buy the licence which is around £40 , probably the easiest Astro processing package to understand.
  20. I use a 2.1mm to 2.5 mm male lynx Astro 2m lead on my dsd hub it all depends on your power supply outlet mine is 2.1mm connector note you can get 2.1 to 2.5 mm connectors
  21. Approx 3hrs 180 sec subs using Zwo533mc L Extreme duoband filter , processing in Startools stacked in Astap .
  22. I asked on astro bin , Gain 100 10 offset for best dynamic range, in the booklet that comes with camera there are three settings in the zwo driver , but 10 seems to be best setting for dynamic range and noise .
  23. I have a baader mk3 which I tweaked to 57.1 mm
