had a good night last night at my local dark sky at lake vyrnwy with my boy.

sky conditions not bad probably 7/10 but faded later on, air temperature 6 degrees time 21.00

first object m31,32,110 pretty good to be honest, very bright core on 31, then onto

m11,m25 tried m26 but the sky was poor in that area m71 nice small cluster, m27 beauty and m57. then m51 not very good at all m102 nice spindal shaped galaxy, m81/82 a bit poor ,m110,m31,m32,m76 nice nebula,m2,m15 then later on m45 this was pants had a job to see it naked eye. then on to some ngc,s

ngc 6709,6738,6807,6781,6804,6803,6837,6891,6905 small nebula but lovely, ngc 457 looked like ET is this the one they call the ET cluster ? then ngc 7004 this was a bit poor and finished of with the veil which wasnt very good considering were it is and also bagged pluto. heres some pics

i left jupiter for you steve, i know you loved it last time, i can here you now saying wow

ET/skiing cluster...v nice,hoping to bag 102 at swsp next week...nice tyres mate!..good to get the kids involved

thanks cal, yeah matthew loved it, loved his DS more though :grin:

Always good to see a few pics to go with a report, sounds like you had a cracking night Mike.

Is your boy getting into it then? Must be pretty cool spending time under the stars with your lad. :)

hi mike, yes he loved it, it was a bit cold for him though. only stayed a few hours though then the skys went rubbish
