Another Red 25th March

That red shows really fine banding, if you use curves you can bring it out more but crepe suffers so you need layers to restore crepe. These are all good images, DPeach just shoots red because of low alt and seeing so good colour which you've got is ambitious.

Thanks for the feedback

On reflection ( no pun intended ) i think overall it was a better night than of late. i have stuff on my pc that havent posted from days before that didnt quite show the moments of calm this night did. On the best footage i would estimate no more than a third of the footage ( and even that is disturbed slightly ) is calmer. the other two thirds are either completly blurred out, or somewhere in between. and this was a fairly good night. I keep hoping i will get 6 mins on red with mostly calm. But its not looking likely. Still you never know ?

Interesting about Dp. It makes sense doesnt it, to concentrate on red. Of course this saturn season will be mostly reds, with the occassional colour thrown in. waiting untill the reds seem promising before colour is attempted is the best way. But often a rgb run just goes wrong, even if the red holds (which often it doesnt for such a short period ) the green likely starts playing up. and then the blue. well man i hate those blues lol.

But its good practise doing RGBs for jupiter, im doing it a lot now. havent touched the DBK in weeks. might give it a bash under better trans though. just a quickie.

Interesting about curves, Its not something i use a lot of, which i would of thought i would like, as its user defined. Sounds like your stretching the contrast or something similair, hence the crepe dieing. Interesting idea of using layers to correct for negatives during processing. Probably your deepsky work coming out here i would assume ? Its something in time i think i will have to start experimenting with. I agree it really does sound like the answer to a lot of problems that cant be solved any other way. Processing the moons of jupiter seperatly for example. Its something i hope i can PM you about in the coming months No rush. I need more software

Cheers John
