boots2711
Hi from Huntingdon,Just starting to get into Astronomy and bought myself a second hand Meade DS2080 last week.I've been blown away! First night out I looked at the Moon to see if the Telescope was working ok! Then took a guess that the bright star to the SW was Jupiter, that was the wow factor, saw Jupiter and three of it's moons to the left and one to the right.Realy love the site and no doubt I will have many questions to post .Alan

glowjet
Hello Boots, a very warm welcome to the SGL forum, Jupiter is most interesting to watch, if you look again to night, weather permitting, you should see four moons, the moon called Ganymede may have been out of sight behind the Planet, enjoy your scope.John.
