It looks as if it has been affected by the change of server. Those who looked before 9pm could see them but not visible for those after. You are maybe seeing them still as they are in your computer memory. Try hitting refresh and they may vanish. Probably worth reloading them.

The second ones look much better to me. The colours look to be more balanced...the first one looks less like what I imagine the nebula to look like IYSWIM

I prefer the second, the colours look more gorgeous and deeper to me in the second, though which is closer to the real thing I have no idea.

I wonder if for me the best might be a blend of the two?

I went with the first, but I'd go for a darker background. Personally I'm not so keen on heavy unsharp masking, which is what I think makes the big difference here.

The second has more pleasing colours and more apparent detail but the dark sky background is quite noisy. Maybe a noise-reduction technique can be applied to the darker parts?

I dont see that as much on my main PC but it does show up on this PC at work, but then the digital vibrance is set way to high on this one.

How would I go about doing that?

Something like this, or equivalent if you don't have PixInsight. I've only ever seen this technique described, I haven't done it myself
