I've just got back from the Southwest Astronomy Fair at the Norman Lockyer Observatory where I met a chap who recommended I visit this forum. So far I'd say that was very good advice.

I used to be very into astronomy when I was younger but then moved to London. Having moved down to Devon I've discovered that the night sky still exists so I'm back in stargazing mode.

No scope yet but I'm planning to get one very very soon - probably a Skywatcher 127 Maksutov which seems to have gotten some nice reviews here.

Hi Mr George and welcome to the forum.

Also went to the Norman Lockyer Observatory today - very impressive setup they have there. Lectures were also good and had a very nice day talking to other participants and visitors. The occasional shower didn't dampen people's enthusiasm (.....or their ability to queue for the cake!)
