I'd suggest that before you put your hand in your pocket, you have a look at some threads here on buying a first scope. In addition, ask for whatever advice you need. It's your decision in the end but you can avoid some of the pitfalls by learning from others' experiences

Welcome Steve, check out beginners help and advice as many have asked this question of what to buy but we need to know what type of astronomy you are interested in and your budget. There is plenty of choice out there to satisfy.
