Just installed the new SGL mobile App on Android... 

Excellent work - thanks to all involved 👍 Much easier.

There isn't an app as such. It is possible to add the website to your home screen depending on which os and browser you have. @adyj1 should have explained this better.

I checked my running programs and it is called 'sgl' not 'chrome' and runs completely in its own instance, so I checked it wasn't  just 'a browser shortcut'.

@Cornelius Varleythe prompts I followed said 'app' at least twice during the install, so it's a bit unfair to lay the inaccurate description at my door...

The way you described it suggested that it was something you installed from Google play and not just a browser shortcut that installs on your home screen. I needed to check with admin just to confirm this. I wasn't the only one who was mistaken into believing it was a downloadable app.

On my ipad at least near the top of the screen on the web page click on the share button (circled);

 

Then scroll down in the list of options till you see Add to Home Screen option;

Then type in the name you want to call your shortcut, then click on the Add button;

 

 

Shortcut will appear on homescreen;

Oh, and meant to add you can add a shortcut on your homepage for any website also if you want to rather than having to use a browser all the time.

For Android (Edge) open SGL in the browser and then press the three bars at the bottom of the screen. From there select "Add to phone" to add SGL to your home screen.

None of this is anything new, on Apple you can do it for most websites, just like you can on a desktop computer….and it’s probably the same on android, but never owned anything other than Apple….it’s certainly not an app…

Hmmmm, it’s not, it is exactly that, a shortcut to a webpage, or a browser shortcut which can be done on any device or computer…but I am sure many people did not realise, and so your post was very useful to those people, so no need to apologise…👍🏻

Have you got an earlier version of IOS software on your iPasOS? Current version on mine is at 16.7 which is the latest 16 version update which came up yesterday (version 17 available if you fancy the new beta version to try, but might have bugs in still).

So you dont get this option ( add to Home Screen) when you click the page up arrow in right top corner

Got it now - different browser.

I'm now stepping back from the computer for a while. All the sign into this authenticate that repeatedly for the last 30 minutes has gotten me really angry and I need to put the keyboard down 😡
