Does injury sustained during construction of an obsy count?

A broken knee cap, surgery, and several months physical therapy.

Never hurt myself doing Astronomy, but my wallet has taken an absolute pounding 🙂

Not that long ago, I knelt down to move my two counterweights out of the way (they were underneath my mount). When I got back up i smacked my head on the counterweight bar..... I'm afraid to say this was all in broad daylight and inside my house!

It goes without saying - I no longer store the counterweights underneath the mount any more! 😊

Yes, counter weight bars are safety hazards. At least you didn't lose polar alignment. 😉

Make sure you buy a good scope and mount feels like my big toe is broken

Climbing onto the stepladder to reach the EP on my pier mounted SW150P to check alignment before fitting the camera and sarting an imaging ru, a foot of the ladde sank ino the ground and dumped me on the deck. 

Barked my shin a good one and winded myself.

At least I had he good sense NOT to try and save myself-the only thing in grabbing range was the imaging rig!

Same here, seems to be a reoccurring injury as well 🙂

Yeah I accrue an astronomy related injury every time my Wife clocks a box being delivered with a “May contain clouds” sticker.. 😏

I have had the odd stiff back from lifting mounts over the years  but I think  the worst injury was when we were living in the Italian Alps. Out on the patio with my bins at midnight, clad only in pyjama trousers (30 C, 90% humidity) when I trod on a 10 inch slug, skidded a couple of feet, then sat down on another. Traumatic!
