Handles for a frac.

Recommended Posts

I’m looking for a handle for my Esprit 120. I don’t need it to carry the full weight of the ‘scope over a distance but something that will assist mounting and dismounting the mount. Most I’ve seen don’t look too sturdy. I wonder if anyone is using a handle with the Esprit or similar ‘scope and could recommend and advise the details. Many thanks.

Do you want the handle to stay on permenantly? @Tomatobro made these for an Esprit 150, from aluminium angle and some sturdy plastic handles off the internet. They do have to be bolted on and off but I safely put the scope on and off the mount with these maybe 30+ times before I got a permanent setup.

If you're planning on attaching it to the scope rings you'll something with the right hole spacing or a suitable bar to attach it to.

Are those Anderson connector pull handles?

Yes, that is correct. The lift may look awkward, but if the scope is put horizontal on the mount, with the clamps loosened you can just tilt it out of the dovetail with these handles. If you have tall tripod/pier it would be harder but my pier was a short one for imaging use only.

Looks a super job but perhaps a tad elaborate for me to fashion.
