Flaming Star and Tadpoles Nebulae - Bi-Colour

Flaming Star and Tadpoles Nebulae plus other DSOs. 

135mm f2.5 Asahi Super Takumar lens, 3nm Astrodon filters in ZWO EFW, ASI 1600MM-Cool camera.   FoV 10° x 7.5°.  EQ8 mount, no guiding. 

48 Ha and 61 OIII subs of 180s (3m) exposures with gain of 300 and temperature of -25°C.  Processed in PixInsight.  Calibrated with darks and flats.  Colour combination HOO mapped to RGB.  Slightly cropped.  Orientation :- North is Left.

The star cluster just below the tail of the Flaming Star is M 38.  Level with M 38 and half way to Tadpoles is IC 417.  Middle near the bottom is M 36.

Really lovely Gina, you should post up the Ha only as well, it seems to shows the thin tendrils of nebulosity better in Mono and it's not often I say that.

Thank you.  Astrodon 3nm filters and avoiding saturating the stars by keeping the gain/exposure combination low enough.

Hi Gina, Lovely to see you "getting your mojo back" and  imaging again. I love both images the rich red and the wonderful Ha image and both well processed too.

just wondered how you are managing with no guiding, is it because of good PA and a nicely tuned mount or is there some other magic😉

Thank you.  Yes, I think the good mount and fairly good PA are the reason.

Had another go at post-processing.  It really needs a lot more OIII data and some SII would improve colours too.
