All dressed up...

Because it's really quite chilly this evening, and I even have a place to go, but there's thick cloud to the north west and it's creeping ever eastward.  I suspect tonight might be a non-starter after all.

Yes, I've just abandoned the evening due to rain showers.

I *almost* don't mind that though, because all I had to do was roll the observatory roof shut and walk back to the house :)  Then go back again when I realised that I'd not powered down the mount :D

TV-85 set up in the yard, almost but not yet dark enough. Meant to be clear skies N/E following rain showers earlier. Could chase a few doubles, dressed up perhaps involve donning my thick pullover.

I was still ever hopeful. Got everything ready, packed the car and went to a dark site. It was slightly cloudy but after no more than an hour it was near enough total cloud cover. Even started to rain on my way home.

I did see 1 persied though, but my camera didn't pick it up.

Totally clear here for a chance but a big moon. I had a look for a bit but didn’t see any Perseids.  However left the cameras running so hopefully pick up some. I recorded about 15-20 last night that I am confident are Perseids but haven’t done the analysis yet.

Oh dear sorry to hear that, turned out to be not so good here to, although surprisingly encountered a perseid. Consoling to think that at least you tried but not much fun when faced with more than an hours drive home. There is of course always the next time...

I had hoped to set the camera up last night but we've had an unusual switch in our weather. Instead of the winds being Easterly with the storms blowing over early afternoon, we're into a morning pattern with it coming from the West.

Leaves clouds over us most if the night.
