I think this is great news.

Not only is S & T being saved, it will be run by Astronomers.

Let's hope it get back to its former quality.  I didn't renew my sub earlier this year, in part because the online payment system didn't work (and when I contacted them the alternative method didn't work either), but mostly because I didn't feel it was value for money.

I gave up on it after Dennis Di Cicco left a good few years ago,  the content went down hill in my view.

Never subscribed to this one, but may give them a few months to get their act together and then take a look. Certainly being run by professionals will be a good thing ... as long as it isn't pitched at such a professional level us mere mortals don't understand a word.

That’s very good news - I hope! My subscription has proven quite unreliable so I hope to see an improvement in delivery! 

Not sure what resources the AAS has to inject into S&T if it’s needed, but I’ll definitely be cheering them on  to produce a high quality,  long term sustainable publication.

I subscribed to S&T in the 1980’s, it was a brilliant read back then, here’s hoping it goes from strength to strength under the new ownership.
