I've always been brought up on the premise and certainly believe

that if something appears too good to be true, then it probably is.......

By that same note, i once saw  a Celestron Ultima Duo eyepiece worth $150 everywhere else, on Amazon for $49, ive been watching it in particular on Amazon for regular $145 then just a few days later  i saw the same link for $49!!.

I took the chance and sure enough 3 days later it arrived, was the genuine product, i was stumped, but i came out the winner, i checked again out of curiosity a couple of days later and it was back up to $145!

whoo knows how, i have heard of other friends who scored big on amazon also.

There was a seller offering new Equinox 80 scopes for £334.00 on Amazon yesterday.  Just out of curiosity sent a message via Amazon enquiring about it and Amazon promptly removed the listing. Again it was a seller that specialised in household goods, not Astro stuff.

Bear in mind your pretty well protected by Amazon when you buy through the site. Usually when something is a scam advert the worst that happens is the transaction doesn’t complete.

Further Amazon’s pricing is algorithm driven and every so often it throws a wobbly meaning a cheap somethingorother. The old adage ‘If it seems to good etc’ whilst absolutely worth considering it isn’t quite so clear cut these days.

Of course there are sometimes scams and you need to be cautious but had I seen this I’d have taken a punt.

The usual cause is the seller making a mistake when entering the EAN number and not checking the listing. So you order a scope and receive a vacuum cleaner for example and then have to go to,the bother of returning it. Yes you’ll get a full refund but easier just ask the seller a question.
