A/R2699 in white light and H/A

The first images since November for me. Conditions were not great, but at least it was clear and sun was not behind the conifers.

Lovely blue skies this morning and the Sun has climbed to a reasonable height. A/R2699 was nicely positioned near the centre of the disc.

The 1st image is with my Lunt50, the 2nd is with my Evostar 120mm. Both with my DMK21au618. The seeing wasn't the best, but at least its a session this year at last!

Nice 'start' to the year Pete. Some nice granulation in the WL despite the seeing.

It wasn't very nice out there to be honest, despite blue skies. Very windy, poor seeing, but still better than the cloud.

Great work Pete! What's your set up with the Lunt 50? That shot is in very close and remarkably clear - how do you do that??!!

Nice one Pete, as you say something is better than nothing. Solar season nearly there for me but can someone lift the sun up for me

That particular image is with a Televue X2 Barlow + extension. The extension is just a tube to enable me to achieve focus correctly.

It was approximately 4,000 frames captured in 90 seconds, stacking 10% in A/S2 and lightly sharpened.

@PhotoGav These are a couple photos from todays dinnertime work session. The 1st photo is obviously the imaging train including the double stack unit.

The 2nd is a close up of the "business" end of the scope. The Lunt Feathertouch focuser, A blank Barlow (lens removed) for extension, Televue X2 Barlow, Lunt B600 filter and then the DMK21au618.

Pete, excellent, thank you for taking and sharing those pics. That’s how I used to put things together with the Powermate, but I bought a ‘proper’ adapter for it and I’m not convinced it’s better! Typical. I will have to experiment. Many thanks.
