That's a change of pace for you Damian - I have never known you to do your own catering at SPs.

 

Looking good, it appears that the only excuse you guys have for light pollution is because one of you has left one of the house lights on by mistake.

Unfortunately folks it's another clouded night up here.:clouds1:

Two of the company got out eagle hunting today and now know where to go tomorrow to catch a glimpse. 

One thing is apparent, step out the front door and its blacker than pitch out. Cant see someone stood 5 feet away! 

Oh well good job Calv has furnished us with some of his extensive library for galaxy hunting, as well as his other favourite subject passtime...............

Yeah. Been watching the weather maps with you in mind and have seen that you've not been blessed. ?

You did get a couple of good sessions, though, and memories of that will stay.

It's been a bit blowy as well, I believe ... ???

Glad you're enjoying even the 'dog' days.

Must be getting getting close to wishing you guys safe home. Hope you've had a great trip. The first couple of nights sounded as if they might be keepers.

Guess what we are packing our scopes up after tea yesterday and the sky clears...its been a little frustrating at times to come here and only get one night of proper observing and fleeting glimpses of what might of been. But the bungalow is fantastic,clean and gives a great vista. The skies have teased us with amazing potential which we knew they have,plus the weather in the day hasn't been bad, just yesterday me and Damian went walking in t-shirts! We have the Dark sky bug bad here in the Dob mob but we will be back because we wouldn't have it any other way....

It's been a great week with plenty of Laughs. Last night gave us fleeting glimpses of the dark skies with quite a few meteors.

The first night showed us the potential of the place with the scopes and as Calvin says we will be back.

Long journey home and will be back for late evening. Here's to the next Skye trip

Similar to my experience recently near Kinlochbervie. Tantalising glimpses - but ended up getting 30mins one night and 10mins on another out of the whole week.

I repeat, safe home and haste ye back.
